Insurance, advice, help, opions needed.
Alright guys,
Long story, my old man moves cars on the back of a 3.5 ton recovery truck, he went to collect a Golf that had a snapped cam belt, not sure why he couldnt use the tow eye but had to use a shackle system hooked up to the front suspension.
He winches car up on to the truck, but over winched it forcing the winch hook out of the shackle and causing the dead car to roll off the back of the truck and in to the front of a Transit, he found the owner of the Transit and matey laughed and said whats one more dent in that pile.
My old man said he was very sorry for breaking the rear light lens on the Golf and said he would replace it, he reloaded the car back on and took it to the garage for a quote, the engine was fooooked and was never fixed. My dad has tryed to ring the Golfs owner but she never answers.
Well yesterday he gets a call from her insurance company asking for his insurance details, WTF?
Surely if anyone is going to make a claim its the Transit owner?
He has got goods in transit insurance as he moves some expensive stuff, but thats not a legal requirment.
He aslo did not charge her as he felt bad about breaking her light.
Can we tell her insurance company to do one?
Cheers
