car window
hi everyone.
my car window is slow going up, sometimes it stops and you have to wait a few seconds, then it goes up, its ok going down.
any suggestions what it could be,
is there anything i could put in the window rubber to make it go up easier?
any info appreciated regards
ashley

What car for a start?
Generally, it'll be down to either the motor getting tired, or the mech being out of line (ie, needing adjustment). In most cases, dousing the front and rear channels in the door frame with plenty of WD40 will usually help a lot. Stripping the door down and coating the runner and ends of the mech arms with LM grease won't hurt either.
You need to see if there's any/much play in the window - grab the window when it;s half way up/down and see if there's much in the way of front to back movement in it that might suggest the mech needs adjustment. Compare it to the opposite glass to see what difference there is

No play suggests mech isn't particulary worn allowing it to pitch and dive in the frame getting stuck. So it's probably just a tired motor, and WD40 should help you out a bit I think. Use the can with the straw in the nozzle, and liberally spray the front and back felts in the frame, right down into the door and up to the top. Don't be afraid to get loads in there - more the better.
