Thoughts?
Right.
The situation is;
I've been into fords for a while now, dads always owned one/taken me to shows/shown me them etc... so, last year, when i passed me test, he bought me and my mum a Mk6 Fiesta LX 1.4ltr 16v.
Nothing special, but until now (1 year on) it's been fine, got me from A -> B, looks alright, fast enough... (for a new driver) and on the whole, its a good car.
The main appeal though is that it only costs me £50 per month, which i pay to my mum towards insurance, petrol etc.. (not a bad set up for me i rekon?)
Anyway, now, im really after something to call my own, a car thats mine, and i can do what i want with it/to it, basically, im looking to take on a bit of responsibility.
So, what should i do?;
stick sharing the fiesta until im finished Uni, then get myself summit special. (hopefully...)
Or
Keep saving (but with no holiday with the boys this year
) for an ERST/RS2000/similar...
You decide....

it is nice to have something of your own, but do you really need it while your at uni? I saved and bought my cossie after uni.
Depends what you wnat. Don;t rush out and end up with a money pit that cost you a bargin price but is really a rot box.
I'd save.

Well if i still stayed at home and went to Uni id buy the ERST but if i moved away from home id prob just save(As best as you can anyway!)untill you are finished with Uni as a car will prob just be another hassle while at Uni
but then again mabey it will give you something to aim towards if you just waited?Good grades = good money....sometimes..
After all its not as if you cant get about

I'd let your no claims build up while you are at Uni and then progress on the car ladder once you have an income. You've got a cracking deal paying £50 a month so I'd make the most of it while you can.
