Default bypass valve leaking?

I have my stock bosch valve going to atmosphere right now until I get a decent hose to the turbo and at idle it's open a bit. Well it seems a lot. Capping it with my hand or thumb makes the idle drop quite a bit.

Normal?

Thats normal on all dump valves, exept dual pistons valves, which you have to use on cars whit air flow meter
