What a great footballer in his day, hope he's ok

 

I remember him in the Italia 90 world cup with his fancy footwork. Sad way to go if it is the case but hopefully the news is better for him.

 

It takes a very special player for a Scot to praise him for a goal scored against Scotland but I take my hat off to him for the goal he scored at Wembley against us in Euro 96. Saw the headline about him possibly having AIDS yesterday and hope it isnt correct.

I was at that game and even though it was against us everyone in the Scottish pen applauded that goal ...admitedly we then all said "BASTARD!" but the quality of it transcended normal feelings. Its a moment that I will never forget. Ranks along with Gordon Banks save in Mexico '70 against Pele IMO.

 

Yes its a shame, but in this day and age EVERYONE knows the risks of either unprotected sex or sharing needles etc. I have no sympathy for them.

he never was to clever ,and i always thought he was overated but he looked ill for a long time now ,but hopefully he hasn't got aids.

Before he was injured in the FA Cup final he was one of the best players in the world without a doubt. Total magic. If a young, fit Gazza was in the England squad today we'd be European and maybe World champs. He had that spark that modern footballers lack in abundance
