Ide sign one for Pressed Plates with a nice pictures in the back ground and the Issue county writen on it ..

Don't speed camera's get you from both front and back?? if thats right they are never going to allow this. Especially as it's been the norm on cars since.... the start

 

dont have them on bikes so why do cars need them

The government have just spent a few hundred million on SPECS cameras that read your front number plate, they are not about to render them all entirely useless so a few chavs can have shitty bodykits on their cars with no plate recess

 

I dont really mind my front numberplate, its never offended me in any way to sign a petition to get rid of it.

i'd sign a petition to allow import sized lettering on non import cars.
i get loads of grief on my xr2 with a cut down plate, although exactly the same size lettering as allowed by the gov for import car plates.

As above bikes did have them but it made them more dangerous, not much of an issue on cars. The goverment are cunts but not stupid enough to endanger life for a plate.

 

Over here in oz its against the law for a road traffic safety camera or a speed camera to take snaps front on.. Invasion of privacy or something.. So indeed we could have no front plates over here but surley the front bumper would look shit

 

as above,surely motor bikes could at least have a small front one?
it just isnt fair,if a camera gets u from the front then they can go through it at wotever speed they like and that is wrong.
why should bikes get away with it and not cars.how many superbikes do u see travelling under 60mph when out on the road?

 

it may look good with no front plate on an enzo(which i dont * think* its law to carry a front plate)
but not on a saxo,corsa,focus etc...

 

I think some cars do look good without a front plate , but because the bumpers are made to incorperate a plate then most would look shit if you just took them off .

But like said this will only happen when the end of the world comes and we're all equal

Come to think of it I can't believe anyone signs ANYTHING on that website. It's one big public appeasement tool. All it does is give them your details so they can email you with their righteous reasons why they're going to ignore your views. I don't know of a single thing that's happened as a direct result of people signing a petition on the website.

 

Not to mention all the police cars with ANPR, and the network of fixed ANPR cameras that most forces use.

im not signing ,what if someone run a child over in a hit or run or anyone for that matter and the reg was unable to be seen from the front as the car didnt have one and the rear plate was somehow unable to be read,it could happen or your pride and joy was stolen ,it would be harder to find the driver or the car ,it wouldnt be a good idea then .

no i dont belive it will pass ether but no harm in signing it, some cars look good without them and others dont, but i strongly belive motor bikes should have front number plates cos they get away with alot

 

the only thing that would be good if changed is the size of the front plate/lettering, within reason!! I know on saph cossies a standard plate size blocks the flow of air at the front a bit, other than that as said bit pointless unless is a show car!!!!

I'd sign a petition to have the law more vigorously enforced for eveyone in regard to plates size fonts etc.
I like the accountability that goes with the plates being easy to read on front and rear, the rear is usaly caked with road dirt so only the front is easily readable anyway.
Don't see why any car of any make should be exempt.
