just looked at a mate of mines 54 plate Vectra C, it making a whining, rumbling kind of noise from the front near side, varying with road speed, and stopping when he goes round left hand corners and it takes the weight off that wheel, he hasnt said about any knocking or banging on full lock.
he was thinking wheel bearing but i wanted to be certain before i told him to spend £105 on a new hub assembly coz the tossers at vauxhall aparently decided to make them as a complete unit?!
after looking though im not convinced, if you twist the shaft there is a small amount of play front to back, where the drivers side is tight.
the shock also has N/S/F painted on, looks like its possibly been from a scrappy so its maybe had a shunt on that corner at some point.
any ideas or common faults?

 

ello pal,is it a 6 speed ??

the 6's are a crap box and fail,the 5's are much tougher.

i know the owner of a vauxhall breakers/specialists the other side of Cheshire to you by me and he has loads of veccy c's in for breaking. its called road runners.

theres always midpoint which is by you but they don't break cars afaik.
