Default need to upgrade my diagnostic equipment!!!!

at present i have a snap on mt2500 as much as it has served well im looking to upgrade.

now i could replace for another snap-on equipment but i really want to get something that can cater for ob11 and can bus systems but wanting some thing that can cater for european and japanese/asain cars.

but i also need it to do airbag resets and other inportant functions

i ask on here as there are many users on the forum that are well known traders and would like to see what they recommend

i been looking at the bosch kts systems but wondered if i could find something better out there for a better cost effective price for the business

i have just upgraded from the mt to the solus pro (carbon fibre model) it is much better and its got autodata on it so you can check most of the fault codes via the scanner, only car i have been unable to use it on upto now is a saab abs system, the obd part is very good on the jap stuff with loads of live data

Snap On stuff is a little lacking in ability. Unless you spend Ł7200 (fucking extortion for what it is to be honest) on a Verus. Even then it feels like a big Solus. I find the Snap On stuff a pain to use to be honest. The personality keys are a pain in the arse compared to a proper multiplexer.

The Launch X431 seemed as bad as the Snap On stuff when I had it for a week.

DEC Superscan is good but has no information system that I am aware of. It has a lot of ability and capability and is fantastic on the French stuff but is lacking in coverage on other stuff (that is being rectified apparently).

Delphi have some fantastic diagnostic tools. I had a DS100E PDA and bluetooth multiplexer on loan for a month and it wiped the floor with the Solus. So much easier to use! Well worth the 1200 or so quid they charge for it. I'd have one anyday if I hadn't just bought something else. Have a look below.

TEXA is damn good gear, but only if you do a lot with commercial vehicles. Not so good on cars but they're getting better. Real easy to use stuff. These tools will be fantastic if they expand their car software a bit more.

Bosch KTS. I've just spent 6k including the trolley and updates for the top end KTS670 and it is by far the best tool I've used. The information that is on it is fantastic. I'm connecting to allsorts without issue. Fantastic gear and I'd advise you look at the lower end KTS systems if you can't afford a 670. Ether the 340 or 200.

If you're on a budget, my advice is a low end Bosch unit or a Delphi. If you don't buy the Bosch unit, I'd recommend you buy the ESItronic data system.

Prices vary from dealer to dealer. I'd search the internet and ring a few suppliers to be honest.

It had a pretty decent range coverage. Certaily seemed more capable and easier to connect than the Snap On stuff to be honest. It was a multi purpose/multi brand tool and not just EOBD so I believe that it would do airbags. It was a while since I had it on demo so can't remember what it could do. I just remember being pretty impressed with how easy it was to use and it's functionality.

Saying that, I found this which says it does do airbags etc...

they're on the side of the injector. i've never had much luck coding injectors in with snap on gear. won't read the codes and you can't tell if it's written the codes to the ecu.

found this on the net

This procedure is by no means obvious. After putting in many hours of research, here is the method of coding that I find works on my heritage (MT2500).

P2336 cylinder 1 knock threshold exceeded = read as injector 1 so code cylinder 1
P2337 cylinder 2 knock threshold exceeded = read as injector 2 so code cylinder 3
P2338 cylinder 3 knock threshold exceeded = read as injector 3 so code cylinder 4
P2339 cylinder 4 knock threshold exceeded = read as injector 4 so code cylinder 2
