Default Mondeo Zetec - Help

Hi

Newbie here -just joined so be gentle.

I have had a Black 2003 Mondeo Zetec 1.8 from new. I forgot to put oil in her and am sure the engine's blown. Anyway the car has been sat for over a year now and I need to do something about it. The car had flown through the MOT the week before this happened and had 4 new tyres too. Any helpful suggestions as to what to do e.g. put a used engine in (needs to be cheap), etc. would be very much appreciated.

Put a cheap engine in it, or sell it as is. Depends how much money you want for it

Get down a scrappy/breakers and get a cheap engine/crashed mondy/focus. Zetec engines are common as muck mate

Thanks for suggestions thus far but I already tried breakers nationally via websites when it happened and all I got was quotes of Ł800+ and then there would be shipping and fittiing costs on top making it not economically viable based on overall value of car. Engine is 1.8 duratec petrol on a 2003 model mondeo. I could never get a straight answer from any breaker regarding which engine/s would suit.

I can't do the engine myself - unfortunately (for me), I'm not mechanically minded.

A lot of work getting it back on the road, and a 6 year old mondeo probably isn't worth it.

If it were me I would either break it for spares, or just put it on ebay or something complete, someone will have it!
