Default Your opinions please *Job offered*

I currently work for a very large bus company as a shift fitter. I have an interview on saturday at a local agricultural engineering company as that is what I am trained as and would like to get back into.

This job I am going for is a mon-fri job on days as opposed to my current job which is early or late shifts only getting one weekend off in 3. It also pays a tad more.

Im a little wary about working for a smaller buisness after working for such a large one as surely in the current state of things jobs arnt as safe in a smaller company????

What do you lot think?

Well the economy is growing again, a bit.

Job safety really depends on the company though. I work for a small company, about 120 people and were growing more than ever.

If its what you want to do then go for it, job satisfaction is something not a great deal of people get.

Also id give anything to go back to 9-5 hours (currently 12h shifts 4 on 4 off days days nights nights)

Are you replacing a current member of staff or will you be going into a new position?

If it's the latter, then they're obviously doing ok to need more staff

Well ive been offered the job. They specialise in agrocats which dont look too complicated!? Could be fun to play about with on a quiet afternoon.

Now the question is, am i suited to this mon-fri 9-5 lark????

I couldn't go back to working 'normal' hours. I like having time/days off in the week, everywhere is nice and quiet.

Since moving company last September, I've gone from shift pattern (days, but a rolling shift rota) to working every mon to fri (slightly varying times), with a weekend rota, and I really miss my weekdays off!
