Mate, you can earn more money per hour driving a transit

Most folk cant be arsed with it anymore, training for this and training for that, tacho this and tacho that, fuckin infringements for a scratched tacho chart that i have to fill out even though i am never in a old chart tacho motor, or slightly over your driving while due a rest etc etc and digital tacho machine is flashing its lights and moaning at you

New training also is 35 hours training over 5 years, just did mine on thursday 7 hours of pure pish.

i see i'm not the only one wanting out of truck driving in the uk, must be the only job that has everyone from vosa, police, the public and his mother trying to get you off the road and take your licence away, just for doing your job, even when you think your doing things right, someone moves the goal posts just to catch you out.

money really does vary from company to company and also where your based in the country, however for class2 licence you should expect around Ł22k+ a year without overtime and Ł25k+ for class 1

expect long hours.
the job isnt too bad really but again it depends who you work for

my guys are on a salary earn 22k plus exspences and ovetime sat x 1.5 sun x2 no overtime in the week

most of them average about 48 hours

start 6am when at base and go home around 4 when home a couple of nights a week

start around 7 to 8am when away and get parked up around 5 pm

they all do muti drops around plumbers and builders merchants all over the crappy delivery points and can get dirty doing the drops but hours are not bad and the money's ok for the hours .

and its a monday to friday job unless you ask for the extra hours ie sat / sun

not all the jobs are that bad but my drivers will moan but at least they are not doing there 15 hour shifts abd reducing to 9 3 times a week like on general haulage or containers .
