newmans cams
yes they do as does sas, jamie but would like the opinion of those who drive them on roads etc and how they are to live with and how it affected there turbo spooling etc
Take a peek at my thead here..

As far as driving and spooling go, the off the shelf Nemans CVH RST cam (they only do one) is very very much like a Piper 285T2 it's lazy and so you lose at lot of low down to gain everything up top including spool up.
If I were to buy one again i'd ask them to make a copy of the 285T or the CVH33 these are much better cams IMO, unless you are just chasing BHP figures of course.

I know NMS have their own custom profiles which Newmans grind, they are not off the shelf ones, this is what they told me when I contacted them about some work on my cylinder head. I have a phase 4 cam recomended by sas (sitech), they are as good as the best to recommend cams for this engine as they are a proved tuner
Yup your right!
It was Karl Norris who I was talking to when he did my head that told me the above, unfortunately I'd already got my cam and after fitting it I found it to be exactly as he described

I've had one for a few years now and tbh i much preferred the characteristics of the kent cvh34 that i had 2 of previously, came in really hard low down, but couldn't keep them in one piece lol! If anything i find the newman less aggressive in how it makes the power come in, wouldn't say on my car it made it feel particularly laggy or hit in massively hard but would try and get them to grind a cvh34 profile next time round i think.....not that David Newman seemed particularly interested in doing so when i bought the last one, in fact at the time he was fairly dismissive of anyone else having custom grinds for their rst's from him but that was a few years back now! Be interesting to see what cam the likes of Karl Norris etc base their custom grinds on, as i can't imagine he specs a different cam for each engine?
