Default 4x4 Rear Diff Leak?

The rear diff on my cossie is leaking from the front seal area...

On my old car, I replaced the seal twice to no avail, which makes me think that its play in the bearings that causes the leak rather than a blown seal. The diff is not noisy at all, and otherwise is in perfect working order.

Is this correct?

How much would it cost for a pro (Bernie ) to fix the leak (be it simply by changing the seals, or fitting new bearings etc)

Cheers!

Neil
