RS Turbo owners, Fan Switch news!
We have been working on an uprated fan switch for these for some time, which will bring the fans on slightly earlier, and bring the temps down slightly lower before switching them off. we see lots where the coolant temps are way too high and the same principle has worked really well on the cosworths,
As an added bonus, we were aware of the problem with the switch plugs being broken and burnt, so we have worked to get a switch which comes pre wired with no plug. so you can throw your standard plug in the bin, and connect our new switch direrctly to your loom!
Im currently testing them, So watch this space, they should be released soon!

as ihave had a custom loom made and would rather not cut into it
thats an excellent idea
simpliest are always the best
only thing being, i have paid a shel load of monies for a loom that is measured and fits perfect, so adding extension looms is not something i wanna do

you could do with testing if different loads (ie non std fans) effect the switch on temperature if these are a passive device. The ECU does mine, but before that i noticed that different fans could vary the switch on temp.

If it were me.... I would probably use a short length of wire from the switch like an inch, then s bend the wire so that the connector is sitting under the switch, cable tie or epoxy in place, and plug in..... Your loom should no look as neat as ever and still be the correct length.

Testing is being finalised today, wanted to test them on a few different spec cars to ensure we can always switch in and maintain around 5 - 7 degrees less than usual and it looks like these will be available for sale by the end of the week at the latest.

the thermostat and fan switch that i bought off ebay for 3 quid is very good,its an 82 degree thermostat and the fan comes in when the temp needle hits the M on the NORM writing.ive had these on my last 2 rs turbos and had no problems
