Hi folks, just after some advice to be honest..

I'm not in a financially brilliant position so am selling my car once its MOT'd (hopefully by end of Jan), however there's a private plate on it that I want to keep.

Any advice on the best way around this would be appreciated.

 

the best way is to get it off then sell it

 

download a form off dvla .. £105 to put your number on retention or £80 to transfer to another vehicle

 

Is there no way of transferring once its' sold where the new owner can't screw you over?

 

no ,once you sell the car and the log book is transfered to new owners name ..you lose the right to keep the plate
