Default WTF can i clean my gearbox wi?

Gunked and jet washed it twice. All the shite is off oil/grease etc, but its just stained and dull now and nowt will get it to come up. Spent most day on it and not happy. Dont wanna paint it as paint ainth the same.


Any ideas?

wouldn't a decent metal polish do the job, cleaned loads of bits on the rs with it before, use a tooth brush, takes for ever but gets there in the end

i found when i did mine the engine degreaser repelled the water from the jetwash

so i did it all by hand, mine had 70k miles of shit on it, and it came up alright

its too much of a rough surface for metal polish or id have used autosol

Hmmm ill try a bit of thinners and elbow grease......does halfords stock that???
