have removed my turbo (after i 'creamed' it on the way home today) only to find that a lot of my exhaust manifold studs have snapped, 4 along the bottom only, has anyone got any idea why this has happened. Also does anyone also know where is the best place to get a decent T34 turbo with 360 degrees etc, taking into account my budget is not too high!!

 

this happend to me m8,found out it was the turbo damper and a heavy right foot.

 

Yep agree with mr worth - turbo damper - get yourself an overhaul kit for it.

had the same problem ran to much boost through the t3, turbo came off snapped off one of the bolts in the head, only way to fix it was head off and drilled out so at the moment just left it slightly blowing for the moment till funds allow me to take it off.

 

does it blow a lot as i have removed 3 of the 4 broken studs and cant get the other one out and i am possibly going to have to leave it, just wandering if i could get away with it?

 

it blows a little but not enough to lose boost or anything, its been fine actually. i am gonna just put some exhaust sealant around it to see if that makes a difference at all.
