to check for spark, pull a ht lead off aplug and rest lead on rocker cover, turn engine over and you should see a spark.

Okay some ideas!!
*how good a spark are you geting is it dull ??,
*Has your car got an inertia switch in the boot.
*When you say that you have fuel can you hear the pump prime when you switch ignition on. ?
*Remove spark plugs and check if its wet with fuel, if so then you are geting fuel up to the engine.
*Worn water pump bearing this can throw the cam time out.

The spark want really that bright i did have to put a fork in the end to get it to touch the rocker cover as it had a rubber coating.

Could be your coil pack if it wasnt that bright a spark follow the lead back from the distributer cap.
Inertia switch usually in the boot cuts the fuel pump out if you have an accident they can play up, not sure if you have one tho ??

Unlikely you'll have a fuel cut off mate, as said does sound spark related as it's just not firing at all is it. Leads/plugs/distributor/coil to check first i'd say.

Do the plugs come out wet or dry?
If they are wet then it's not sparking under load (compression) or your overfuelling, if they are dry then your not getting enough fuel.

Mate forget all this inertia malarky!

Just check the simple stuff. Make sure the leads are all plugged in tight, take the plugs out have a look at them and test the spark, make sure you've got fuel getting there, check timing. It will only be something small if you only had the car running a while before it started messing about.

This is the reason i've moved away from RS Turbo's, too many headaches.

Let us know how you get on son

Sounds like mine did the other day when the fuel pump stopped working.
Did you say the pump primes when the ign is switched on?
