apparantly you have to pay to go online on the xbox.. is this true. i think a poll is in order here and some pro's an cons kinda thing!!!

1. What do your friends have?
2. What do you want to play? (online/offline/fps/racing)
3. Do you need wireless? Xbox adapter is 45 quid ps3 is built in.
4. Xbox has sky player, 1080p film streaming, PS3 obviously has BluRay.

Its a choice that really doesn't matter in the end, they're both good. don't worry about failures as both suffer. Don't listen to any fanboys (XBOX FTW!!) etc.

i have had a ps3 from day one with no issues
i have people on my ps3 list from allover & there is almost always one of them on line to jump in to a game with so what my mates have dosent really bother me

 

have both, only game I play on xbox is forza3...

 

Ps3 all the way for me.. far more advanced than the xbox.. price will obviously tell u that!

 

PS3 cant fault it.

 

ps3 failure rate is nowhere near as high as 360.

ps3 for me all the way. Its a topic that has been argued about extensively on here though.

If you watch some films, play games, etc get a PS3.

I own 3 PS3's (1 upstairs, 1 downstairs and 1 at me Mum's for the kids). I watch a lot of films and only play Modern Warefare and lve all my PS3's

well ive got a ps3 , had it 2 years with no faults but all my mates have xboxs so the misses got me one for christmas with 3 years insurance and in my opinion the xbox is better to play games on line .

they are both great though .

I have an Xbox 360 Premium and an Elite. Premium has gone wrong once per year, red ring of death which was collected, fixed and returned in under 2 weeks and a drive failure which I botched up.

Yes about Ł28 per year and that's why XBL is better than PSN. You get what you pay for in this life and after all this is the UK, we get taxed, raped and pay everything so Ł28 is hardly going to break the bank is it. Well worth it IMO.

Advanced? Not at online gaming it isn't. Xbox is king.

The games selection, game quality/backing and online gaming come first with me. The reliability is not too bad, yet........

Yep!! Although the Xbox aside from blu-ray will stream films, do Sky player, Facebook, Twitter, MSN, stream your music off pc etc etc etc.

I think the only argument the PS3 has these days over the 360 is the reliability because every fucker has a Blu Ray player now as they are cheap as soil from the garden. However if you want to wait AGES for the top racing games, have less exclusive games or content and wait longer for the COD maps then by all means get a Playstation. Both are still good though (just 360 is better of the two).

 

ive had my 360 a year now with no faults whatsoever only downside is the 36 quid a year to go online but i can overcome that as i love it dont really rate the ps3 after only having playstations until now as when i played my cousins it didnt excite me at all

The ONLY reason why the price of Blue Ray players has hit an all time low is due to the fact that the system firmware cannot be updated. There will come a time where all they can do is play the film, the special features will be useless, this is due to the overwhelming demand for better quality video/audio and the way the Blue Rays are encoded now.

The PS3 firmware however is updateable, which there fore supports the argument that is worth buying the PS3 as a Blue Ray player alone (It also has an official DivX licence), that with the combined knowledge that the PS3 is also a very good media center for streaming 1080p videos, music, photos, etc. It also has a very easy to use but fully functional internet browser along with a decent sized hard drive.

For what I use it for it more than meets my expectations, therefore my personal opinion is that the PS3 is better for me and my needs.

Anybody who says Xbox is better than PS3 or visa versa is a fool. It's all down to personal preference at the end of the day

If I had my own place I'd have both, Xbox upstairs, PS3 downstairs.

XB360 is a better console for games, but how many people wanna spend Ł200 on a games console these days?

PS3 is much easier to view media and other features. The Blu Ray player Is still one of the best. You get alot of arseholes on XBOX Live mainly stuck up American's. PS3 seems alot friendlier.

I've just got rid of the XB360 at me Mum's to get a PS3 for there as I'm not paying all the extra costs for a rarely used console.

 

A games console is for playing games for the majority of people, the only reason I mentioned the Blu ray player factor is because you lot on here all go on about 2 things only, Blu ray and reliability because you know Xbox has the upper hand on games AND support! Blu ray's aren't new anymore and so that 'trump card' is just about dead.

And who the fuck uses a PS3 for browsing or buys one because of that when most have Nokia's, I phones, PC's or a laptop on the coffee table. Poor effort IMO. Oh and the HDD on my Xbox elite is 120GB and I've used about 30, tops.

Yet you tried to say/or sway to the Playstation side. Its a games console and the Xbox is the best. As I said many many times, PS3 isn't the best at browsing the web, playing Blu rays or playing games. Its a jack of all trades master of none.

You having a laugh? Some of you say the PS3 is better quality and the better console as it cost more yet some of you constantly go on about the price of a membership and the price per features.

Loads of Brits etc on XBL, and you probably use Windows all the time yet say its easier to steam on PS3. Xbox will connect to your WMP and MSN that you already fooking have. It doesn't get much easier than that.

Good for you, you get what you pay for as said and Sony can't keep up with Microsoft no matter how much you love it.

I have both, and a gaming pc, which gets played more? the pc, as neither console can compete. I payed for xbox live, once, its full of 12 yr olds that can't drive, so ram you off on the first corner. Xbox is more of a childs console, wheres ps3's are more based at the older generation of gamers. When I want to watch a film, I use the ps3, due to it being quieter. I also hate the fact xbox charge like Ł50 for a bloody wireless connector, microsoft=rip off merchants. Whereas ps3 has it built in, AND I can use my G25 wheel with the ps3 along with any usb keyboard and mouse.
Theres also the fact the xbox is made from low quality components, which is why its about as loud as a 747 at takeoff and why I know about 6 people who have had broken xbox's (one of which has had 3 break) and only 1 person with a broken ps3.

Oh, and noone gives a shit how many xbox's you have, honestly, can noone just have 1 anymore and carry it between rooms?
