Default Turbo Spec and inlet manifold

Hi Folks,
I've taken on a part finished project and hope you can help - I'm an RS Turbo virgin!
Do all the turbos have a turbo technics plaque on the turbo - or have I struck lucky???
Also, I'm not sure of the spec of the housing that sits on top of the inlet manifold. Sat on top in the centre are what looks like two vacuum unions. On some cars I have seen the one on the passenger side connected to a dump valve I think. What about the one on the drivers side?
And last of all, I'm running twin Girling master cylinders with brake bias control and there own dedicated resevoirs. The inlet manifold has only one outlet on the passenger side which I think normally connects to the brake servo - am I okay to blank this off? (If anyone is running a similar set up I'd be grateful for any pointers!)
Cheers,
Iain

Hi,

Not all RST's have "Turbo Technics" written on the turbo. Turbo Technics is a company that supplys overhauled and uprated turbo's.

So it could be a standard one, also could be an uprated one.

The 2 vacuum unions are standard on every ERST. Right hand one goes to the breather system and the other one goes to the ECU.
Often people place T-pieces into the hose to the ECU and connect that up to boost gauge and dumpvalve.

If you are not using a vacuum powered brake servo, you can just blank the outlet in the manifold.

And ey, get some pics of the car up 'ere....

give turbo technics a ring they will tell you what has been done to turbo by numbers on the plaque.

Thanks for that lads.
I've had another gander today and might be getting a bit closer to solving everything...
I've found the vacuum coupling on the ecu and sorted that simple enough. (Cheers Mark) The breather one though is just redundant at the moment. The last owner has got a Bailey swirl pot hooked up to the head - so do I still need to find a way of connecting the swirl pot up to the inlet manifold???
Brake servo hose will be duly blanked off...
I'll get on the phone to TT and find out if I've got a hybrid turbo on the go - might be nice Thanks for your suggestion Jon.
If I can find out how to post a pic I'll get 'round to it!
Iain
