Default VIC tests ? ? ?

Whats the script with these then? i mean how do you know if your car needs one or not?
i bought a cosworth 6 years ago damaged (light front) cat c .I sent the log book off not long after buying the car and got the log book back all registered in my name, and the car is SORN off the road at present. So as far as i can see all i need to do is get it M.O.T'd , nip down the post office for some tax and im up and running!?
or am i? will it need a vic test or something?

If you have the new log book in your name then not to worry.

You have to have a VIC check if you buy a cat C car to get the log book back.

Well i was issued the log book - and that was 6 years ago, the car has been sorn every year via the DVLA's request ever since. On the DVLA website The DVLA state that they will only release the log book to the new keeper once the car has passed a VIC test.... so i guess my cosworth never needed one and im in the clear to get it taxed and mot'd .

VIC came out in April 2003, so if you bought it before then it wouldn't have had a VIC marker.
If the car was put on a Cat C before April but you bought it after, then it wouldn't have a marker either.
