just took my head off to sort out why my car smoked blue when giving it some and then going back on the gas any took head off striped the head down and i found that its got bigger inlet valves so thats a bonus but ive been looking at the steam seals and wahts the best way to tell if ther fucked but will replace any way

 

Bigger than what mate? Std? How do you know?

I presume you mean "Valve Stem oil seals"
Best way is to fill head with oil and leave overnight and see if any seeped through. But easier to just change em pal

 

all ready got all the valves out and yes i do no i build engines for a living and i have plenty of std head and std valves around me to tell but thanks any way was just trying to rull out why the car smoked turbo is going to be sent off and head is gona have new seals so it can only be rings at worst

just change them, they are pennies anyway, and if they arent gone yet they may will still be starting to harden and not have long left anyway.
