focus tail lights and dash lights not working

Default focus tail lights and dash lights not working

as titled really no dash light or tail lights working or side lights. checked all fuses and there fine also changed light switch and still nothing. anyone got any ideas its a 02 plate ghia if it helps thanks

You did check the fuse box inside the car opposed to the under bonnet one?

yes checked that one I've been looking on the net and apparently its quite a common problem but no one ever says the solution. i no its no fuse related as well because the other day all the lights came back on and lasted 2 days but now completely gone

I wonder if it's the switch, does the front sidelights work?

nope no side lights just full beam and main beam and bought a brand new switch and no difference and it cost Ł60

also front bottom fogs work indicators work brake lights work rear fog light works

Happened to a guy at work's Mondeo just last week, he had no rear sidelights and no dash lights.
Guy at the garage checked all the connections behind both fuseboxes and switches and the problem solved itself.

So although the fuses may be fine, it may be behind there one of the connections is causing the problem.

yep tried that still no joy but thanks for the suggestion. the strange thing is with the ignition off and the parking lights on which are the tail light and the side lights they work fine

My money is on an earthing fault somewhere. I'd get it to an auto electrician, they should get it sorted in no time.
