Default focus underneth exshaust heatsheild removal

as title says is this dangerous? i.e getting to hot? want to remove it as the its not really fastened up to the body of the car and making a noise, the nuts that hold it on need extremly large washers to put it back into place but it would be easier to remove n do without!

its a pain bud..

to be honest i cant see a standart exhaust getting hot enough to cause any issues if you removed it but when mine was rattling i just ehipped the bolts out of it and as you already touched on put some huge washers on there, they were actually 2inch strips of ally with a hole drilled out the middle and that worked a treat..

the cat heat shield is a different story..

nice one m8, but most of the bolts need washers on them, the heat sheild is prob held on at the mo with 2-3 bolts itssorta resting on the exshaust, its doin my nut in might just whip it of, its only really the back box area
