Default How rare is this Granada Mk3 RS Bodykit??

Ive only seen a select few granada's with it on, is it like rocking horse sh*t or not.. I won it last night on ebay, i wanna put it on my magenta granada 24v saloon, but i'm thinkin, should i maybe repair the front bumper and put the kit in the loft for a few year if its that rare, the problem is, I wanna use the bottom half of the front bumper an mate it with my original bumper an do the same with the back an modify the side skirts, but should I?? so the question is, put it on the car, or in the loft???

Karlos is that for the same shape granada then? i thought it would be for the rounder "teardrop" shape.

They look similar to the si bumpers to me, which i dont like anyway on the fiestas. they're too round for a boxy car, same for the Granada.

If it were a mk2 granada Ghia X Kit, then you could retire on that

tis fairly rare but your are putting a bodykit on a granada, that seems alien to me

dont think i'd bother myself and thats a fair pile of money to pay too, these were fairly regular cars we took away on a sec 165 (no insurance etc) i loved smashin em up before we crushed them, quite a few cossie grandads too

well you shouldn't of smashed the cosworth granadas up, ive been breaking one and have made 450 quid so far. the engines still sell for between 100 and 250 quid. and one with this kit on will sell for what i paid, the kit i mean. i won it for 2 quid more than someone else was willing to pay, its all down to what we like i suppose, some people like the granada's, others don't, for instance i don't like escorts, yet some of you would think i was insane for that. but in other ways maybe ya should smash up the granada cosworths, for each one you ruin it means mine gets rarer. lol

well this is mine,
http://i789.photobucket.com/albums/y...mat2000/f3.jpg
my plan is to take the bottom half of the front and rear rs kit and mate it to my bumpers, i have a spare front and rear bumper so if it don't go to plan i can just keep my car as it is, I don't like how bubbly the front bumper is, so taking the top part off and using the skirt and fogs is the plan. with side skirts and the rear spoiler is already on my car anyway. as many of you would, I'm more than happy to spend 1000's on my granada, i don't ever plan on gettin rid of it so i may as well.

ive never had mine rolling roaded, its had no engine mods. so not sure, i though they were about 195bhp standard, but unfortunately my engine has seen better days, its off the road at the minute for winter. got another 24v engine in my shed that i'm cleaning up, it had the timing chain done 11,000 mile ago at a cost of over a grand. found the reciept in the car i took it out of. sweet that engine. some people on here have been saying if you put the cams out of the scorpio BOB 24v engine an put vectra v6 injectors on it then it gets rid of the flat spot between 1 and 3,000 revs, I want to do a manual gearbox conversion on mine..
when cosworth originally came up with the 24v engine based on the old 2.9. they went to ford with a figure of 300bhp, but ford didn't have a traction control device for the granada, so they knocked it down to 200 ish, they wanted it to still be a luxury brand not a high performance brand. but 300 is easily done apparently.

i know that car and have been in it and under it,it was or could still be if eric didn't sell it in ellesmere port,my mate put the kit on it for him and it was a right twat to go on,it was a bit hard to fit as the kit wasn't genuine iirc, the front bumper needed gallons of fibreglass to get it into shape, the car has been to top boss in derby and had allsorts done to it although not twin turboing.the wheels are amg merc cos if you look close they are much wider than normal cozzie granny.
cruises quite well at 130 mph

yer i wonder wot you have to do before igot my chevy block i had a stage 2 race engine in my scorpio done by hi tec performance cradley heath good bloke named mick it cost 2000 but it would keep up with the cozzies had a racing cam on it and it would do 110 in first gear only had the 150 clocks in the scorpio but the needle went past that i reckon 160

it would have made more power with a different designed inlet manifold, but ford wanted to keep the standard look so they went with the flat inlet system

you can get 300 with some throttle bodies

Ive never seen a bodykit for a granny like that before, its not a bad looking kit and looks even nicer with the amg rims. How do you granny guys get on with the automatic gearboxes these days, i had two 2.9i ghias with low miles and both had gearbox issues eg, losing fluid or exploding or eventually both. If only they did a cossie 24v manual

you'd need to redesign the whole package as cosworth were told by ford to mate the engine to an auto box seeing as it was going to be an executive express
and yes, the boxes are specific to the cossie motor but there are still at least 3 different versions on the boa and more for the bob

not sure, but there was a racing series that had them all pegged at about 300 horses, with tb's and the like, there was a mag feture way back when as well which may shed more light on teh matter

they were going to stick in the xr4x4 but then you'd have a natural competitor for your top dog cossie motor

Not a pretty kit that one, never liked it.

Mk3 Granadas look great simply slammed on AMG rims.
No need for either the fussy RS kit or blobby Scorpio style one...
