Default LHD question - rear window switches

My 88 saff has wind up rear windows. It's continental and LHD.

Behind the handbrake storage compartment there are two holes for rear power switches but they are vacant. I'm guessing Ford didn't bother with a simple cover for these correct?

That's where the rear switches are yes, plus the front switch panel has all four window switches in it, and a button in centre to turn off the rear window switches.

Yep, my center panel only has two switches. No lockout. Wired only for two just like a 3 door.

A bit shabby on Ford's behalf to just leave the rear switch holes bare. Anyone know of a donor car that can supply a neat filler/blank?

Why not make them leccy in the rear ?
Don't know of any blanking plugs, maybe they were never fitted, but worth checking to see if ford still do any ?

I'm working from memory here so may be wrong, but I believe that Ford used a single consol armrest for cars with electric or manual rear windows.

The cut-outs were marked on the inside and it sounds like yours has come from a car that had electric rear windows - I don't think there were any blanking plates used there because there were no holes on cars that didn't need them.

Your best bet would be to either pop switches in, convert to rear electric windows, or check out other blanks from, for instance, heated seats, boot release, other models/makes to find some that fit. If necessary, you could open up the holes a wee bit until they fit.
