my 1800 zetec petrol mondy got a new cam belt and water pump at the weekend, did it myself , but didn't have locking tools for the cam, i took the belt of and one cam spun slightly so got it to TDC and got the cams lined up and come to put the belt on and it didn't seem to sit on the teeth proerly i assumed the belt wasn't stretched this is why i seemed a little out, so i got the cams as close as with both marks pointing in slightly allowing for some stretch.

put it all back and it started straight up but i revved it and when it fell back to tick over it went to die and did a couple of times, it doesn't do this anymore but i have noticed a slight vibration at tickover and a sucking sound i don't remember before, the penlum has been bodged slightly by the last owner would a leak from there cause any of these symptoms?, also i'v noticed it'll judder when rolling to a stop without my feet on the pedals it'll sort of jerk which is getting quite annoying in traffic when i just want it to roll

any advice would be great lads cos i want it running perfect and it's getting on my tits that this slight vibration and judder has turned up

 

oh yea appart from all of the above it does seem to run fine can't see any loss of power or ruff running anywhere else it'll go down the motorway without missing a beat and actually seems a little more pokey it'll go over the 100 mark quite easily now, and fuel doesn't seem effected, there is also a slight belt niose comming from somewhere if anyone has had any of these probs can help us out and let me sleep at night
