Default Front drive shafts

I was getting a very bad vibration at speed on left hand bends. I was told it would be one of my front drive shafts. I replaced both front shafts, all be it with second hand ones. Now I'm getting a bad vibration on right hand bends. Could it still be the front shafts, just pherhaps the other side now? If so which side would cause vibration on the the right turns? When I changed the shafts, I also changed the engine mounts to vibratechnics ones as the O/S one was shot. Any thoughts or similar experiences?? This year has just been one thing after another, I'm getting at my wits end with my car I just want to enjoy it for a while.

Vibration in bends can also come from the downpipe when it touches the body, if its too close. will also be worth a check!

On right hand bends you're loading up the left wheel, on Left hand bends it'll be the right wheel.

Did you keep your old drive shafts ? It could be bad luck that one of the drive shafts you've put on is knackered as well. It could be worth refitting your NS drive shaft.

I've fitted Vibra tech engine mounts & they do cause a bit of vibration when new but that goes away once they loosen up a bit. As long as they have been fitted correctly they shouldn't cause a problem.

Thanks guys. I fitted the mounts first and this didn't change things so I don't think its to do with them. The exhaust is also fine. But I was myself wondering if it was the case where its the opposite wheel that get loaded. I still have my old shafts, so hopefully putting my original N/S one back on should hopefully cure it. Is it possible to get the shafts re-conditioned so I would then have 2 new ones in effect?

Ford do a recon service but its big money from memory. I bought one several yrs ago & I'm sure its £200 ish + your old shaft.

If by swapping both shafts you've moved the problem from one side to the other it does seem to point to it being one of the drive shafts.

Also check out Ebay, they do come up on their.I'm not sure of the quality though.

The shafts are longer than Cossie ones, People fit them if the car is lowered a fair bit.
