Cool advice for zetec

its been a while scince i was last on, but the time has come to get an 2.0l zetec.

my car is a 1989 xr3i convertabile that cost me £200, i have owned for about 2 years now, my first plan with the car was to drive it as it is but 2 miles down the road and it stops dead. got out the car and saw a line of oil on the road leading to where i brought the car from.
second plan was to restore the 1.6 cvh, so took the engine out and stripped it right down. got a few new parts (£300) and all painted up nice. every part inc nuts and bults was cleaned up like new. (got the picks so ill put them up at some point) so far so good right, untill some prick broke into my garage and nicked the engine , i know some people will say its only an engine, but its not only a engine, it was my engine that i spent a shed load of time and effort on. well thats the last 2 years (there about)

ive just been offered a 98 2.0l mondeo with a years mot for £200 from my sister, so the plan is to drive the car for a few months untill the weather gets hot again, so in the mean time i want to start getting all the bits like water and oil pump, sump etc, etc.
the engine work i can do no probs, but the wireing is a diffrent story, all i see is wires. i ave no idear if the engine will run on the xr3i loom or if i ave to use the mondeo loom.

i whould like any advice on the egine and loom, thanks

That engine will be more work than a silver top cos its a black top, water pump spins the opposite direction to. best bet to go on a kit car website to get the info. Ive done a few silver top converions and its not to hard to do

is there loads of things that are diffrent between the black and silver top??
i know u can buy the water pump, sure ive seen them on ebay. i want the car ready for june 2010, so i dont mind the extra work (as long as the black top is better than the silver top)
which is better out of the 2??? not the easyist.

i take it i need to keep all the wireing for the engine and cut the rest off??
