There is a bloke where i live driving a blue escort rst and he reckons its 290bhp, its still mfi no 5th injector, but presume it is cammed, chipped, hybrid turbo, front mount etc, but reckons its still 290bhp am i correct in thinking he is talking out of his ARSEHOLE??????

I've saw 265@wheels on MFI, but metering unit was err 'modified' a fair bit!

 

it'll eithe rneed bigger injectors, fifth injector or upped fuel pressure to get there.
not likely though, mfi tends to run dry after 250bhp.

 

it'll run dry before 250....220!

 

with a fifth injector you should get there, seen a few, although the afr did fluctuate quite a bit.
efi is the way for big power.

I always thought the same about 220-230 with a fifth injector, this bloke is a complete tosser and clearly hasn't a clue what he is talking about as he has also said he ups his boost with an adjustable boost controller bleed valve!!!! (bye bye engine)

 

A bleed valve is perfectly OK in the right hands, and when set, left well alone!

 

amen, msd use them when a boost controller isn't fitted.

 

well he definitly doesn't have a fifth injector, the bloke has also been saying about fiddling with his boost controller (bye bye engine) tried talking to him and give him some advice but he is just a know it all and swears blind his car is 290bhp so i just cannot be bothered with idiots like that.

 

bet it's on a standard cooler too, still when he blows the engine you can buy the car on the cheap

^ pmsl, know what you mean. Yeah my XR3i is chipped up to 300bhp. Opens his bonnet to reveal some DIY painted bits and the Bosch K-Jetronic metering head. So what have you chipped exactly?

 

hello all i know the car and person in question and its not 290bhp it has got a intercooler only pace dont know if its chipped or camed though and when u boot it and it comes on boostit is holding back. its under fueling as the boost is too high. it would be a nice car in the right hands. he's a nice lad but has not had a rst before.

 

hi guys this person in question CLEARLY HAS NO CLUE and needs a serious talking to if not understanding that maybe a reality check, i don`t know how much mine is putting out? if any1 would like a gander at my gallery you will see that i have custom inlet and pipework i made up with 5th injector i have pec rods acralite pistons, newman 3/4 cam, grs intercooler and stg3 turbo, its not running as of yet because i still need to finish it but when i do will try out on the rollers and see.. if i can get a healthy 200 something will be happy. hope`ing for that 220 though
