This isn't an F1 successor though, it's a lower level car, designed to compete with Lambos and the like.
I think it looks stunning to be honest, should be interesting to see how the production model turns out!

The difference between this and the F1 is : The F1 Cost Ł660'000 where as this is prejected at Ł150'000.
They say between 1 and 3 thousand made each year? Well if they sell 11'000 or so like the F355, they will drop in price?

Don't they aim to sell 1000 units in the first year, then less after that?
For that money, I can see it being reasonably successful, but we'll see I guess.
I think it's stunning though! I read somewhere they plan to release a bigger car too, something to rival the DB9/612/Murcielago or however you spell it

bollocks someone beat me too it

Been wanting to talk about this car for a while but its all been a bit hush hush untill now!! Other than the spy shots of it etc
We got shown the car yesterday at work and it looks fookin awesome!!! (of course i have to say that but hey ho lol)
The launch colour they chose is amazing!! and the pics dont do it justice (its similar to the last F1 althou they used house of colour for that and cost shit loads) and the work involved to get it where it is has been pretty amazing. We've actually done a few colours for the prototypes and it looks good in all of them
I've actually been working on the prototypes since last year/this year and its made a big change from doing slr's!!! and nice to see it finally come to shape, they have actually changed the front and back end and a few other bits from what we last saw and its deff a big improvement!!!.
As most places say its a 3.8 twin turbo lump running approx 600bhp, and unlike most claims ISNT the amg lump used in the SLRs etc, they wanted the whole car to be Mclaren designed, built at Mclaren by Mclaren
Now we just have to wait for the new factory to be built before it goes into mass production, their building a whole new place on the same site were at now but has taken a while to get planning permission so will be a while but gives us all job security for the future and should create a few more jobs too which will be good for everyone.

I do find the Carbon Fiber Cell to be interesting.
This will be a interesting competitor for the F458. Finally another super car with proper F1 Technology
Well this is just the next stage from the SLR cell which was obviously carbon fibre aswell and alot more advanced taking into account the slr was launched in 2003/4?! been so long cant remember now
The car was actually being designed back in the early SLR days but unfortunatly got shelved back then.
The main thing that has changed the front end is the new bumper and the carbon, that wasnt there before and has transformed the look of the whole car!!!
Doing ths has been a long way off and with Ron at the reins 'should' make us into the ferrari/aston etc competitors that has been a long time coming.
and theres alot more things already in the pipeline waiting to go
Has definatly given alot of the staff there including me a big boost knowing Mclaren is going to grow as a company into something alot bigger!!!

And the engine was developed by..
The V8 is not derived from a Mercedes power plant. McLaren calls its M838T engine "unique for this car." It was reportedly developed by Cosworth.
All it needs now is Cosworth logo on the boot.. lol
Its going to be 3.8lt V8 twin turbo and they mention 600bhp. Very nice indeed.
443 ft lb of torque, of which 80 percent is available at 2,000 rpm.
