Looking at getting a cheap runaround and these seem alot of car for the money. Not the best looking car but look very well equipped on the inside. Should i steer clear or are they a good buy ? http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk...cleRegLetter=R Good or bad thoughts please

buy one mate. what sort of engine are you after.. buy the ultima though, there fully loaded, some have traction control, allbeit a bit primative traction but its got it, they do a 2.0 16v, 2.3 16v, 2.5 turbo diesel, 2.9, and a 2.9 24v, the BOB engined one, they loads cheaper than nice granada's of that age. an they can fly round corners. if ya can, find a r or s plate one, they look better cus they have dark headlights and a coloured rather than chrome grill, they dont look as frog like, like this one

compared to the older one like this

an they dechromed the back end as well

an i had nothing go wrong with mine except a wheel bearing, i've had a 2.0, 2.9 24v an the diesel. just watch them though, there very easy to clock, so make sure the history is right, old mot's and stuff, if you buy the right one like a 24v it should depreciate, even diesels can still make a grand with quite high mileage

My bro had a cossie version, must admit I like these cars looks wise a lot, better than the jelly mould cars of today with no character.
I'd go for a cossie one, but watch for auto box glitches, a lot of loom problems with the auto boxes leckies.
