not an escort but its totally mint and worth a pic,the escort hit a deer at 90mph but was rebuilt into a s1 rep.both are still on the go,the orion being an everyday car!

 

That onion is cool, my first car was a Mk1 orion 1.3gl in ceramic blue!! Always lusted after a 1600i Ghia in that colour!!

 

i see a roll cage in that,any more plans for it??

elec dizzy controlling rev limiter
rs turbo lsd
grteenstuff pads machined discs
std shock with leda springs
stripped interior with gay blue bucket seat

future plans:
pair cheap recaro's
new shocks (twin bolt at top)
poly bushes
1600i front spoiler.
stop the exhaust scraping on the speed hups

might attend crooked billet meet one sunday.

I love that pic with all the XR3i s on the motorway.

 

The picture is copywrite and I have permission to use them (there are more). Ford wanted somewhere to store the new XR3 and the company I worked for had built part of the M4. Ford then got their local managers to drive them off whilst my company had its photographer taking pictures. Some pictures were used by Ford. For the record they all have TTW number plates and were sunburst red.

So let me get this right, Ford stored 500 XR3s on a then newly built and unused bit of the M4?!

My xr3i,been stood in my mates barn for years,only had 2 owners and was apparently one of a batch of 100 cars ford made first before the cars went into full production[not sure if its true or not]

i'm building an XR3.5 ( mk1 orion )



i've got a 130 spec zetec that i'm still debating to throw in and i'm also thinking about either ford lattice alloys or 3i doglegs also got an xr kit and a mk3 escort optional extra front bib to chuck on.

 

think its around blackpool ways if its still alive.

was just done right not ott, been painted, S1 trim, S1 wheels, RS16i splitter, RS 3 spoke wheel, 3 inch outwardly rolled stainless, S1 springs.

Had all the bits to put an RST motor in, S1 kit, opening rear quartersm another S1 trim, cage, samcos, cossie brakes but at the time a new job didnt allow the time and the car needed garaging instead of being used on the motorway everyday so i sold it on to AJC. then he sold it to a friend.... the rest is history lol

would have another mk3 escort tommorow, so much character!!

 

ive got a yellow xr3 jus not got any pics to put on yet.i will do when i have had it re-sprayed

It is correct, you can see the motorway is not finished.

I will try and get into the loft and see what other pictures I have as there are close ups. There is a set of colour ones somewhere as well.

 

does anyone know what colour ther 'ESCORT XR3' sticker shud be on the back of a yellow xr3 because im going to get one made??

think it was 27 praire yellow ones my mate has one on a w reg that is unrestored I know of about 5 I think it was including the one from the article above which is a reshell
