not to difficult to find rst box mate you can genearally get a full rebuild done on them for less than 300 quid. i wouldnt bother with a diesel box mate its a myth that they are stronger they are the same as rs box except for sliightly taller ratios and no lsd

it will fit

but try to read what we say.....

THE DIESEL BOX ANIT STRONGER THAN THE NORNAL 1600 box
its a myth that keep poping up, from some one that havn't got a clue about what they are talking about...

the only diffrent between the diesel and the standard S2 box is the ratios + you will loose the LSD diff

You can put a diesel box in it if it is standard power.

it helps lose some of the wheelspin and better on economy on cruising, they are the reasons i have diesel gear ratios.

Same here, I have the 3.54 final drive from a mk1 diesel Orion. Much nicer altogether, even more so when you have a 2.0 zetec turbo. Much quieter on higher speeds and actually better acceleration from 0-100km/h.

I guess it's just personal opinions but i hated running a Diesel box, much prefer the normal RS ratios.
