After reading about some peoples restorations , breakdowns, modifications etc etc I was just wondering whos car has been off the road the longest , and how much longer is it gonna be off the road? Be it be years or months or weeks

Mine broke down at ford fair in august and been off the road since , hopefully it will be back up and running by march/april 2005 .

would say about a year to year and a half with the 3 door,
but had other cossies as well in that time.
just sat in the garage till now,

 

7 years, that means all the rust ya sorted at the start will have started up again

I started building my Cossie powered MK2 Escort in 1991 - and I haven't finished it yet...!!

 

my s2 has been of the road since sept 03 but have
no intrest on doing anything to it .

 

in the 6 years ive had my car, its probably been off the road for 4 of them, but not in one go, 3 big restorations though,

 

So far about 4 months, miss driving it like mad, probs won be on the road again till this time next yea either

 

i know what you mean about missing driving it adam, its killing me

 

Mine took nealy 4 years but its done now, thats if u ever realy finnish
theres always something u want to change upgrade.

my 3 door has been off the road since i bought it in about 96' and the bloke i bought it from had it standing in a barn for 5 years before that ! so that make it about 1991 but my mk2 lotus cortina has been off the road since 1987 does that make me winner? what do i win? someone to finish my cars maybe

 

almost 3 years an its far 2 cold 2 do anything with it till next year

my old boss has got a mk1 lotus cortina from when was 25 he started doing the engine rebuild but lost intrest... it had been in the garage 18 yrs when i last worked there and that was 7 yrs ago... one day he might finish it.

 

one of mine is 16 years

and the other is 15 years

as both cars have never been on the road,

only on the race track lol

 

Originally built in 1981 it competed in 1 Ford Challenge race in 1982, was then dry stored ever since until I bought it and started the full strip down and re build in Jan 2002. so that was 20 years
