as in on my cossie the box pops out of second at times ( dip clutch and is does every now and again), crunches from 3rd to 4th and i cant select 5th to 4th unless i go into 3rd sometimes




now on my old erst the box just wined and then locked up

is it me or does the T5 box seem to have things go wron but swtill work

i heard of a few cossies with no 3rd gear anymore but still has all the rest and works for ages



what causes it

 

cos one was designed with shopping in mind and the other was for heavy duty use!

 

You seen the SIZE of a T5 box! It was designed for yank tanks! The IB5 is about as big as the bellhousing!!

 

thought one woz designed for a taxi!

 

T5 came out of the Mustang originally didn't it?

well i mustbsays they aont all that strong as im now having issues changing down gears

everythign has a reason, just wondering why my gearbox is not selecting gears, crunching ect and poping out of second when on my erst box the fooker just wined then locked up ( 3 fooking times i had that )

answers simple and already answered, cause its not as fookin good or strong, simple.

is there much point going into tech details as hardly anyone would understand and it wouldnt make any difference anyhow, but just the parts arnt as strong, simple.

its simple, RST boxes are made for lil shopping cars, T5s were made for big heavy mustangs, neither are stupidly strong, but T5 is far better
