Default ET25 too small??

As above is a offset of ET25 too small on 7x16's, lowered 35mm, will they rub? Standard wheels are ET35 IIRC.

Cheers!

I thought of that but the wheels I want i can only get in ET25 16's, or ET40 17's

I run 7x16" ET30, wouldn't want them any further out than they are TBH.

I'd definately go for the ET40. Too high of an ET you can always correct out with spacers, but too low is more tricky.
I have 16x7.5" wheels with ET38 and I would want it an millimeter more in or out. It's very close to rubbing both to the rear shock and rear outer wing.

7.5" wide is 6.75mm wider in each direction, then ET35 would put it 10mm inwards, so 7" ET25 would be 3.25mm closer to the outer arch which if yours were level is too close, they would rub!

Yeah but the ET40 are 17's and that's the problem I want to drop to 16's

dude, im assuming you have probably already given the aches a little bit of loving to get your 17s on with it lowered, so that will be plenty enough gain to easily clear et25 16s

and as said, esc cos rims are 8j et25, and they fit with just a bit of arch work and the correct tyres

i had voodoos et25 on a s2 195 tyres it used to rub like a bastard going round corners with the archs totally modified that was 25mm lowerd the only way i can see you can get away with it is keep standard ride height

if you keep it that low it will rub the arch away and your wheels will come through the archs also note its the weight of the wheels that dictates the handling not just the size if your a lighter weight 17 will handle better than a heavier 16

I'd keep as close to ET35 as possible personally. Driven a few Escorts and Fiesta's on Escort Cossie rims (ET25 8J) and imho they drive like shit on them

I have done nothing to my arches to fit the 17's, and I only get a tiny bit of rubbage at full lock.

Were they 16's or 17's?? If they were 16's then I have no hope
