F722 FYB. Where are you?
Hi guys, this is my first post so i am hoping i have got this in the right place.
Im looking for a Sierra Sapphire Cosworth that was owned by my dad. A few months back, i was bored and decided to type the reg into Google. It took me to a thread about a guy who owned it after my dad, also asking where it was. Apparently, the car suffered a battery loom fire. The only damage was the bonnet, wing, vent and battery/battery wiring loom. The guy then decided to sell it.
Apparently, the car is now being restored, but according to the DVLA, it has not been taxed since 2007 so im guessing it may be dead.
My dad owned for several years, and sold it at around 1999. I dont know the mileage, but i know some of the spec incase that would help to identify it if you guys ever come across it.
Flint Grey
O.Z Hockenheims
Was magazine featured, but i dont know what magazine or the year. If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be great!
Car was doing 470hp at time of sale. It was a real minter, and was used on numerous track days and drags.
Thats all i really know without speaking to my dad about it. Im determined to find out what has happened to this car. I had some fantastic times in that car, and providing its still alive, even if its just a shell, i would love to buy it and surprise my dad with it. I miss this car alot and would love to atleast know the fate of it, as it's been stuck with me ever since i saw the thread on the RSOC forum.
Heres a couple of pics from one of the more recent owners. You can see it with the O.Z hockenheims that my dad fitted.
Regards,
Frenchy

P.S, i have also looked on the database on here, and found nada.

Just because it hasnt been taxed since 2007 dont assume the worst mate. Some people take years to complete restorations. Either they are doing it thoroughly, and/or don't have much time on their hands to get it done quickly. Never know, maybe someone on the forum owns it....

Thanks bud! Means alot.

Thanks. Sorry about the wheels, i got mixed up. Your right, they are superleggeras. I dont think these were fitted by my dad though. I know he did have hockenheims on it at one point though, and i believe it was sold with them, as well as the original wheels.
have you done a quick reg check on it, that is i suppose a start to see if it comes back scrapped or write off. I did it with an old car of mine that i was gonna try and find but it came back scrapped

I know this is a mega old post, but they are my pics in your first post and thats one of my old cars... I had it for 6 months, did loads too it then the loom fire happened and I broke it for parts and sold the shell on to a guy off the 200+ club.
It did get used well though
It had the Hocks on when I bought it, I then sold them to someone here on PF and fitted the Leggeras, then sold then and fitted the diamond cut 7 spokes in one of your pics, I didnt sell the car with standard wheels as I never had them.
Ive got loads of pics of the car still.

Hello!
Wow! Real nice to hear from you. It's great to see the pictures of the car. What condition was the car in when you had it? As said above, when my Dad had it, he said it was real mint and was running 400hp+, and even though I was young, I do remember it being very tidy.
Do you mind e-mailing me them pictures to nathan_french@blueyonder.co.uk please? I have lots of pictures here of the car too, and have loads undeveloped, so will have to get round to scanning them and posting them up. Do you have any idea where the car is now?
Regards
Nathan

If I remember right the guys name was Chris and he was part of or ran the 200bhp+ club at the time.
When I bought the car it was in standard form, very very good condition though..
headgasket failed instantly so sorted that then the usual T34 greens etc
The pics you used above, I took.. Was gutted when the fire happened..

Yeah, I did mention in the OP that those pictures were from a Previous owner.
Abit wierd that the car was running standard power back then though. I guess it must of had an Engine Swap or maybe just restored back to standard. I'm also pretty sure that those Hock's in one of your pics are what my Dad put on.
Real shame to hear about it dying though. I'm hoping to god it's still alive.

I just asked him, and he said he is 95% sure he sold it in 1998. He said he met a guy in a Supermarket car park, and then the guy said he would buy it, so he delivered it to him to a big house in Bromsgrove.
He has two questions for you if you don't mind answering them. He wants to know if the Audio Install he built for it was still there when you had it. He said he put 2 subwoofers in the boot with Mac Audio amps mounted to the seats, and then 6x9's in the parcel shelf and tweeters all over. He said he also had RS Logos laser cut and fitted to the doorcards. He did also want to ask about a load of Engine parts he fitted, but I said there is no point if it was running standard power as they would of been removed.
Thanks a lot for answering all my questions though mate. I really REALLY appreciate it, and it's nice to know that at some point after my Dads ownership, it went to another careful owner.

Hi mate
ask away.. There were a load of amps in the boot when I got it, but I took them all out straight away and they hit ebay.. There were no other decent sounds worth mentioning in the car..
it had the hocks that your dad muct have fitted, but they came off as you know too..
I bought the car in about 01/02

Here's two pictures I just took. Apologies for the horrific quality, but there the only way I can show pictures of the car at the moment.

I think here it was modified, but not to the extremes it was when he finished, and it had no Hocks here.
How many pictures of the car do you have to hand? As said, I would love it if you could e-mail them to me if you don't mind. I have lots here I need to get developed and scanned.
