Default backing of the boost using amal valve

A few people have advised me to cut one of the wires on the amal valve and join them in to a switch inside the car.

Apparently this will lower the boost level allowing for more traction in 1st and 2nd gears making it easier to floor it without spinning too much.

The switch can then be turned on when higher up the gears returning the boost level to normal.

Is this true, is it advisable?

Cheers
Will

I put a switch in for my amal valve, i have a stg1 chipped 2wd sapphire, it worked but soon found that i ran it full boost most of the time anyway so no need, just didnt put my foot down so much. Also found it a touch annoying when being beat of the line to have to flick the switch, a couple of times when i flicked the switch i had to hold on to her one handed, looking down at the switch, not much fun really

Traction control and boost limiters are built into your right foot, unless your running silly power i can't see a need

i have this done on my car, but like said by mrc and pj theres not really a need unless your running big big power as you will just run it full whack all the time!
i only had mine turned down when it was damp roads but then i would expect that my car spins allot more easily than your saff.

As said done the same lol, but isnt 100% neccisary. But all u need to do is cut the red/black wire going to the amal valve, and run wires 2 an on off/switch inside and its done. ALthou its recoomended to get it checked to make sure everythings tunning ok after init.
