Default Broadband

Just got a letter from orange saying they are upping the cost of my broadband to £35 a month, for no reason. No improvments, no speed, hikes. Nothing.

Basically they can get f**ked if they think im paying £35 a month for 5 mb broadband.

Anyone know of a good provider, i.e. Sky, Virgin. Anyone had any problems.

I dont want one of these packages tho as i dont want a land line and i dont watch tv. This is where im struggling.

what are you paying at the mo mate?

were with orange but think its only a 2mb connection?

anyway its about £13 a month

thing is we have just moved to an area with shit tv reception and sky are doing a deal for £16.50 a month for a sky+ box, £30 fitting and free eveneing and weekend phone calls, and free 2mb broadband.

seems like a very good deal, but it ends tomoz so gotta think fast lol

well I have been paying £14.50 a month for 2mb because i'm on an orange pay monthly phone contract.
The weird thing is the website says im still elligable for the discount on their new 8mb package. The letter they have sent says otherwise. I get the feeling is going to be one of these "we're a phone company and we're going to f**k you about for our own entertainment" jobbies.

Just give em a call and tell them you want to cancel, they will probably sort you out a better deal if you cause a fuss about it.

They sent me the same kind of letter, telling me they were upping it from £17.99 to £19.99. I just went to BT and am paying less than that for a quicker connection and a higher download limit.
