Default noisy gearbox

Wondered if someone could suggest whats wrong with my box, when the car idles there is a rumbling sound from the box but when i press the clutch pedal it goes away, i can also hear it when driving through the gears low down. All gears select fine and i have no other problems than the noise it makes lol what could the problem be?

Cheers

If you depress the clutch and it goes away then it's the gearbox (as the internals stop spinning when the clutch is depressed!), if you press the clutch and it makes the noise then it's the release bearing as that is only under load when you press the clutch pedal.
