anyone know where i can get a worm drive for my 2wd saff ? also when you take it out the gearbox will the oil come out?

Never taken one out but shoulden't think the oil would come out, if it did it would be when you remove the prop

Oil WILL come out sorry missed that bit, especially if done with front on ramps due to tilt.
If done on flat I don't think(not tried) that any will come out other than the drips on the drive bit.

i took the dials out to see if the cable was turning and it wasn't. so i put the car on the ramp and took the gearbox end of the cable off and everything seemed fine. put it back together and now the speedo works again

 

How much was it from Ford?

Yes defo from ford, can't remember amount but was not that high for a cossie part, think around Ł15-Ł20.
