old engines in new cars
how does everyone get away with fitting cozzy engines and zvh engines etc into cars like focuses and ford pumas and so on and pass emissions come mot time.i see a lot of these done and there driving round with no cats or lamda sensors etc.
what year is your bemmer fuzy.i heard rumours of slipping the mot man a few quid and he does the mot emissions on another car.but ive seen a 04 fiesta with a cozzy engine and its road legal so i dont no how they have done it myself to be honest
i'm an mot tester
as fuzzy says they are tested on whichever is older, its is upto the vehicle presenter to prove the engines age.
zvh's could be a bit of a grey area, afterall, I can't ever remember a zetec that didn'y have a catalyst fitted

it would have to meat the emmitions law of the car that the engine came out of.. sooooooooooooooooo there was not any fords out there that was fitted with a zetec and NO cat... so you would have to fit a cat to your engine for it to pass a strate mot test.
