Default Sapphire 4x4 boost issue

Hi guys,

Got a issue with the boost on my standard cossie this is confirmed as it was on the rolling road and it is only putting out 186 bhp. I have been told I should have 0.8 bar of boost. I only have 0.7 and it drops off after 4500-5000 slowly to 0.55 bar. The actuator and amal valve have been changed for new ones and it is still doing it. The whole inlet has been smoked tested and there are no leaks. The compression is 155psi across all 4. I have tested the turbo and that can hold the boost so I'm now guessing it is electrical/ecu related does anyone have any ideas what it could be. Its starting to really annoy me now.

Regards

Matt

Was that 186 at the wheels?

Shouldn't think 0.1 bar will make much difference to be honest

Its 186 flywheel bhp. Its not 0.1 where the max power should be tho its like .2-.3 down. Doesn't matter what you do to the actuator as it keeps it down to 0.7 just spikes higher if you set it higher, it felt awful to drive. I did unplug the amal valve and set the acutator at .8 and it felt so much better so i know it isn't mechanical. The ecu has no errors but it could be the air temp sensor sending slightly wrong signal to the ecu or map sensor but the again you would think it would run rough but it idles and revs perfectly. Keep the ideas coming please.

So with the amal valve unplugged and boost set at 0.8 it held it ok? If so then i'd say that was the problem

Its a brand new one and the one before that is only 3ish years/1000miles old. So I would very much doubt it would be that!!! It could be but the odds are against it. Both were brought from ford.
