How much power can a standard clutch take?
I was always under the imprerssion mine had never been uprated, but it seems to take full bore launches and anything else i can throw at it within its stride, currently running 350ish bhp 4x4, i know the clutch in it has done atleast 15k?

Most of the effort in pushing down the clutch pedal is wasted on overcoming the friction in the cable, that's why when you fit a new cable it's wonderfully light, then as teflon liner inside starts to wear and get snagged between inner and outer cable it gets sticky and rough.
HYdraulic defo the way to go, but as regards how much power, mine is std, on 380 odd with no problems.

it depends completly on how you drive...
launch even a stage 3 cossie on a std clutch and you can pick the pieces out through the bell housing.... yet drive it nicely and you can make it last for years

erm, i'm not the most gentle of people.
I am shocked i still have a gearbox.
I am not a lunatic all the time, but when i do drive it hard i DO drive it hard.
It will spin all 4 (well, probably 3) wheels on dry tarmac with a 6k launch.

However, its there to be driven, if it breaks, i'll just have to shell out and fix it!
Dont get me wrong, i dont full bore launch it everytime i take off, infact, i probably dont do it even once a month, but i have been known to do it!
these cars are there to be driven
