I looked, gave my verdict, and said "nope thats not what caused it, even xxx (our other techy) didnt manage to suss the reason behind the problem"

I LMAO when I was told, gotta love the users

 

lol usually when we get fucked laptops back that have cracked screens broken frames etc it "just happened" users never to blame of course, lol i will go for something like they left it in the sun when working in the garden or they think its a virus

 

The lines would indicate that it was possibly dropped, but there appears to be no surface damage to it.

Did the processor fan stop working, overheat, and explode ?

I work in IT and have seen many cases like that. A good one was when someones brand new laptop keyboard stopped working 'for no reason' but all the keys were sticky and it stank of beer lol
