My X-Box S**t Itself.... Gutted.
The other night it started to flash three red lights. I knew this day would come, and had been expecting it. Well, I tried all the tricks to get it working, and as a last resort I threw it down the stairs. Well, three stairs up actually. I don't wanna damage it, lol. Guess what? Fuck all.
So, I have decided I am going to go out tomorrow and buy a PS3. I've been a tight arse for too long, so I'm gonna' treat myself. Forget Microsoft and their bum products. I've had it. Not even two years out of a console isn't acceptable, and I'll never own another of their consoles again. The only good out of this is I've offered it back to my ex who bought it me, and she's gonna' give it to her new partner for his Birthday. Shame it'll have nothing inside it but some duff weight. Nevermind. I had to make myself feel better somehow.
The question is, what games will rival Forza 2? Not many I imagine. Am I making a big mistake?

yes they will fix the rrod also, personally i ahve both x box and ps3 and as for gaming i prefer the xbox so far but only due to it having some games sony dont although i was well inot fall of man 2, i really only bought the ps3 for its blu-ray and that i cant fault so it depends what you want mate, buy a ps3 and get bill gates to fix your 360 then you can have the best of both worlds.. winner

you can fix them its not hard, well proberbly not now like being launched up the stairs but i fixed a mate of mines, took it apart and glued some 4mm slices of rubber to each of the rom chips, its still working now, that was like a year ago

you dont need a soldering iron, the problem is the rom chips come away form the board, they just need shoving back in and keeping there, i did it by a guide off youtube, i'll see if i can find it

one wire for the power

Mine was 1 month over the 3 year.... Phoned them up... They agreed to fix FOC... Printed off the label got next day collection from UPS (Tuesday and they sent me a new console that arrived the next Wednesday!)
Restored my faith in Microsoft... Everyone makes mistakes, And I think they couldn't offer a better service in getting them repaired even if you have to send it to Switzerland!!

when i took my xbox back the guy in zavvi told me they take more ps3's back than 360's
my mates ps3 has been back 3 times and still dont work
mine was an elite which im told shunt break, pah! neways got a new 1 there and then shame zavvi has not gone, i could take a few more back on the old reciept- guy dint even look in the box, im glad i kept the black remote and spare cables for when i take it to other rooms, lol

Get your 360 Fixed Forza 2 is far the best racing game out on the 360. When GT5 comes out buy a ps3

this would have made it a serious contender, but sony played the waiting game and it was so worth it
not that i'm dissing the xbox, i've got one of them as well (the 360) but the cost of getting online, while small at £40 a year, is still £40 more than it costs to play the ps3 online for that year, and, after a efw eyars, it's still going to be cheaper, just even more so

GT5 is never going to see the light of day, its already 2 years late! Forza is here right now and is awesome. Lifes to short to wait for Sony to fix their crap.....$1.18bn dollar loss this year....largely attributed to the failing in their games division.

Are you for real, Dojj? A serious contender? It wipes the floor with the ps3 as it is. For gaming and online gaming it just owns it hands down that's it plain and simple. Even lots of the extra content comes out on 360 first. Same old tiresome arguments we hear about Blur ray but the 360 doesn't need blu ray.
Oh and membership is £28 for 13 months not £40 which is very worth it for how good it is. I can't believe PS3 owners are now using the consoles appearance as plus point.
It meant to play games people anything else is a bonus. If you want a blu ray then go out and buy a proper one but if you want the best games consoles and best online gaming experience get a 360. It will stream films, music and chat with PC's + msn as well but again that's just a side point. You'll never own all the games and Gran Turismo is one game yet thats all you ever hear from PS3 owners, blu ray and GT. ( oh now that it looks prettier apparantly)
There are more PS3 owners on here though it seems so you won't get a balanced view. Benni, if its under 3 years olds then box it up, call them and they will collect it label it, fix/replace and return it. 1.5 weeks out of a year and a half ownerships wasn't too painful for me. Best gaming console by far and that's coming from someone who looked at a PS3 as well before buying and owned the other playstations in the past and loved them.

Id rather pay £40 to play online on XBox with shit loads of mates than pay nothing to get online with nobody on PS3! Who even games on PS3 these days? Its a bluray player!

Anybody know if Bill Gates/Microsoft plan to do a newer console in the future? Seem to be getting better and better and bearing in mind majority of people in the world have Windows, media player and MSN on their PC's its links with them perfectly to share your stuff or communicate. Just can't see how Sony can compete with that.

Just ring them and send it off,they replace the motherboard and heatsinks,why risk fucking it up yourself when you can just send it off for nowt?they come and collect it as they did with mine and my two brothers when they got the red ring lol..Since then all the machines have been perfect.I own both the ps3 and xbox and at the moment the xbox has much more games..
