another bloke from swindon here, 30 is OK in my opinion

oil pressure will drop when the engine is hot, even worse if its been driven hard

what grade oil are you using?

is your oil pressure mechanical?

has it always been at this pressure or suddenly dropped?

is it a new build or done a few miles?

does the pressure increase when you rev the engine?

I wouldn't be worried about 30psi at idle either, as said so long as picks up it's fine.
The oil gets very hot on cossies especially after a thrash, a oil cooler will help pressure as it keeps it cooler, as will using a good oil/grade like a 50 or 60 weight.

i think my gauge is shite in mine, it sits at about 15 psi when its hot, and only ever goes to about 40 when revving!

I'm pretty sure if it was that low, my engine would be knackered by now.

basically mate if it dont start tapping and knocking on idle and youve got over 15-20psi you should be fine, i run pattern bearings in mine and after a very hard drive on idle it goes down as low as 25psi, thats with a hp oil pump on mobil1 15/50

ford say at 850rpm on idle with a warm engine useing a 50 weight oil it should be 1.8bar so about 17psi and at 2000rpm it should be 2.4bar so about 35psi

Just had a rebuild and have a high pressure oil pump spring

I've got an electric oil pressure gauge, using valvoline 20/50 for running in, it's winter here at the moment, and I see up to 80psi on startup, then as low as 20psi at warm idle and about 40-60psi on cruise

I wouldn't be too concerned - no idea how accurate a Spa Gauge is though

Mine sits about 30psi at idle when the oil is between 80-> 90 degc

After a hard run it drops to about 26/27 when around 105 deg

Lowest I've seen is about 24psi after a few laps at Anglesey - think oil was about 115/120.
It recovered as the oil cooled

That's on Silkolene Pro S 10/50.

I noticed it used to run slightly higher psi on Castrol RS/Edge 10/60 ( when it used to be popular ). Think the reason for that was the molecules get chopped up or similar - Mike R or Oilman or Rod Tarry could probably tell you the reason.
