right , got a PS3 off my mate the other day . he pre ordered it and picked it up the day it came out . used it for a month then moved house and packed it away . then the other day we were clearing out the storage place and found it .

is there different gb versions etc ? 40 60 80 etc ?

do all the versions do the same thing etc . my ones got a flap on the front which underneath is what looks like a ps2 memory card port and 2 other ports for maybe other cards etc

my other mate has one he bought last year that ant got this ?

was going to sell it cos ive got the xbox 360 the other day and ive got a wii so thought id ebay it but i dont know what version it is or what to say it does etc??

It sounds like you have the 60GB original playstation3, which has 4 USB ports on the front and will play PS1 & PS2 games.

If it has a silver strip, USB ports and memory slots then yes its the 60gb one. (I've had one ever since they came out )

Make sure you update the firmware, they keep updating the compatability of it.

Ive got two If yours has a chrome strip on the front (Where the DVD's go in) and has memory card slots its a 60GB. The 80GB has a silver strip and no memory card slots.

 

I would sell my 60GB i wouldnt mind a newer model i dont use the ps2 function on it.

How much do they go for then? i have an original but dont really use the memory slots or play PS2 games.

 

Around £300 as far as I can see, and they are about 3 years old now.
