Thing is, there has been some very very nice original, low mileage, Mk2 XR2's for sale recently, at no where near 5K!

Ł5000! It's a pretty little car, but rough spare wheel, 108,000 miles, threadbare drivers bolster, that piffling bit of rust I wouldn't be bothered about normally but at that price it shouldn't have anything.
Far too expensive. I had a really really nice red one a few years back and it had only done 78k miles with history, 4 owners, and I only sold that for Ł1250!
